Motifs of Harry Potter Stories

Harry Potter is one of the most popular fictitious characters ever created by anybody in this world and the motifs of Harry Potter stories are so interesting and thrilling that the books on Harry Potter and the films made based on those stories are most favorite among people across the world, specially kids.

Motifs of Harry Potter stories refer to the characters or things that make their presence felt in every story. Magic or wizardry is one of the greatest motifs of Harry Potter stories, because the stories are all about the wizardry world.

The tussle between the students with pure blood and half blood in the Hogwarts School is the most common motif found in every story written on Harry Potter, the wonder boy in the world of wizardry. In every story and film on Harry Potter and his brave activities we can notice the feeling of hatred in the minds of the pure blooded wizards and the half blooded wizards.

Besides, the muggles, the group of people living in the lowest level of the wizardry world are also one of the most important motifs of harry Potter stories. According the Black Family Tree, pure blood wizards (those with pure magical bloodline and descenders of magical ancestors) enjoy the top most position in the wizardry world and they have a tendency to see the muggles, those with no magical bloodline with condescension and suspicion. The wizards with pure magical bloodlines believe that they should be the controller of the wizarding world and they don't even consider the muuggles a s real wizards.

That's why in all stories of Harry Potter stories we see the muggles being humiliated by the pure blooded wizards in many ways. However, Harry potter don't differentiate his classmates and friends in those ways and supports them whenever danger arrives. But still we often see death of muggle borne wizards in Hogwarts School.

Motifs of Harry Potter stories also refer to the owls that make their presence felt in all books. In fact it was an owl that carried the the admission notice of Harry Potter in Hogwarts School in the beginning of the first Harry Potter story. The owls have been shown as messengers in the Harry Potter stories as they are considered as the most visible aspect of the world of magic. They work as communicators between the wizards and we see them as the pets of the wizards. Harry Potter himself has got a white owl called Hedwig and he carries it with him while going to the Hogwarts School. Hedwig was gifted to Harry Potterby Rubius Hagred, the keeper of keys of Hogwarts School on his 11th birthday when he arrived in the wizarding world for the first time.

Speaking about motifs of Harry Potter stories one must not forget to mention about the Hogwarts School with its typical castle type look. Hogwarts is the thing without which Harry Potter stories cannot be even thought of. It is the place where all interesting things happen. The tussle between the four houses of the school, Principal Professor Dumbledore and other faculties are integral part of all Harry Potter stories.
