Lily Potter

James Potter met his future wife Lily Evans (who later became Lily Potter) at Hogwarts, where she was in her first year. Her wand was 10 and a1/4 inches and was made of swishy and willow wood. The exceptional feature in her body is the almond shaped sparkling green pair of eyes. The dark red hair cut under the shoulder looked nice on her. Professor Slughorn said that Lily had a natural intuitive power of making potions and she was really brave. The over all charm of looks, nature and fun loving and charming character of Lily was liked by all. Soon Lily became a member of the Slug Club that was actually run for the promising students at Hogwarts.

Lily was actually a Muggle. Lily’s sister, Petunia looked at her disdainfully as Lily was a witch and considered her to be a freak. Actually Petunia envied the power of magic exercised by Lily. Moreover, may be Lily got a little more attention from her parents because of her exceptional magical power. That can also be a reason for her sister’s jealousy. In the book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”, Petunia confesses to Harry that her main reason of jealousy was her parent’s attention towards her sister. Petunia resented a lot for the fact that her parents ignored her wish to go to the Hogwarts and sent Lily to Hogwarts.

Petunia despised James and passed on snide remarks and derogatory references in all the Harry Potter books. Once Petunia, referred to a wizard as an “awful boy”. Harry thought it was referred to his father, but it is not confirmed whether Petunia was referring to his father James Potter or somebody else. According some experts that awful boy was not James, but Severus Snape, the childhood friend of Lily Potter.

In “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” the aspect of friendship between Snape and Lily was quite evident. Snape expressed his unreciprocated love towards Lily was clear from the very early childhood meeting of the both. It is also believed that Lily would have gave this proposal thought if Snape would had not been got involved deeply in Dark Art.

In fact, during the early years of both of them in Hogwarts Lily has expressed concern for Snape’s addiction to Dark art. She did not even like the friends Snape was with. In the fifth year of both of them at Hogwarts it all was over. Snape called her a mudblood even after she was a big support for Snape against Sirius and James. Later on Snape tried to apologize to her, but soon Lily discovered that all the friends of Snape think about Lily the same way. So she ended the relationship. After this incident Snape hated the word mudblood like anything. After Lord Voldemort killed Lily, because she was the only barrier in the way of killing Harry, Snape spent his life in saving Harry, whose mother he never ceased to love.

Lily Potter was the Head Girl in Hogwarts in her final year. Lily considered James to be an arrogant bully and both of them chose to address each other by their surnames. Later on Lily Potter succumbed to her attraction towards the boy wizard James Potter.
