Harry James Potter

Harry James Potter is the famous boy wizard and the widely popular title character of a famous series by J K Rowling. Rowling has sketched the character of the main protagonist of her fantasy series with utmost care. According to her the structure of this character came to her mind when she was waiting for a delayed train in the year 1990. After her mother died Rowling decided to pen Harry as an orphan. In her thought process she could visualize this wonder boy as black hair, bespectacled. As for the reason behind sketching Harry as an orphan Rowling stated a very strong reason that he needed to be a free agent who does not need to care about his parents will under any circumstances. He made Hogwarts a boarding school as most of the important incidents over there take place at night.

The death of Rowling’s mother made her feel how an orphan child does long for his/her parents. So Harry’s anguish is visibly strong and described in a realistic structure. In her interview with “The Guardian” Rowling has confessed that ‘Wart’, the character in T H White’s novel The Sword In The Stone is actually the spiritual forefather of Harry. According to the author Harry just came out as a part of the author herself. Harry also shares his birthday with his creator J K Rowling.

Harry James Potter is driven mostly driven by his own conscience as most of the time he needs to meet hostile adults. From a very early age he learns to take his decision. He falters and rectifies himself and at the end emerges victorious after listening to his own conscience. The reflection of Harry’s maturity of thinking and unselfish nature is in front of us in the fourth book of Harry Potter, where he constantly protects the body of the dead school mate Cedric Diggory from Voldemort.

The two draw backs in Harry’s character are his occasional arrogance and his anger. Still the fighting spirit inside him, competitive nature compels him to strike back and not to take insult or abuse in his stride. This very simple boy possesses some of the qualities that are unavailable in the characters of any other normal boy. The specialty in this boy wizard’s character is that he is not afraid of death. So, he can execute all his duties without caring about any thing. The author confesses that she sketches the character of Harry, very consciously as a role model of every child and an otherwise real looking hero of materialistic world.

Harry inherited a pair of green eyes from his mother, a weird but cute hair style from his father. He has a mark of lightning bolt on his forehead and round-shaped thick spectacles. According to Rowling, this is the appearance of Harry James Potter in which the author first visualized him.

The lightning scar on his forehead indicates the presence of Lord Voldemort. According to the story it burns as Voldemort is up to some dangerous planning. In his childhood Harry was attacked by Voldemort and was gifted with this magoical scar that became the window to the dark Lord’s mind.

Lily and James Potter, the parents of Harry James Potter died in a car accident. Harry gets married to Ginny Weasley and through this marriage he gets linked to the House of Black family or the Peverell family. Both the Peverell family and the Potter family as both of these families are among the most renowned wizarding families.
