| Hannah Abbott is one of the minor characters from the J. K. Rowlings Harry Potter series in Hufflepuff House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hannah Abbott was born in 1980. Hannah Abbott is a close friend of Ernie Macmillan. Hannah Abbott and Ernie Macmillan share the same hobby of collecting chocolate frog cards. Hannah Abbott was in Hufflepuff House as a student in the same year at Hogwarts as Harry in 1991. She is the only character from Hufflepuff House to appear in all the seven novels.

Hannah Abbott is described in the novel as pink faced with a rosy complexion who usually wears her blonde hair in pigtails. In Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets Hannah Abbott was did not believe her friend and housemate Ernie Macmillan that Harry Potter was an heir of Slytherin because she always found Harry to be very nice
In 1995 in her fifth year at Hogwarts both Hannah Abbott and her close friend Ernie Macmillan became a Hufflepuff prefect. In the fall of 1995 the same year she became the prefect Hannah Abbott joined the Dumbledore’s Army in October in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Dumbledore’s Army was organized by Harry Potter to be a strong defense against the Dark Arts material taught during Professor Umbridge’s time. At the end of her fifth she was supposed to sit for the Ordinary Wizading Level (O.W.L.) examinations, but she became so nervous that she suffered nervous breakdown. As a result she was given a Calming Draught by Madam Pomfrey. During her practical Transfiguration O.W.L test in an attempt to vanish her ferret she turns it into a flock of flamingos. At the end of the year she became a part of the D.A. group who came to assist Harry’s against Crabbe, Goyle and Draco Malfoy on the train Hogwarts Express. In book four she is seen wearing a "Support Cedric Diggory" badge showing her loyalty towards her house but she also remained on good terms with Harry showing her loyalty towards her school.
Hannah Abbott leaves Hogwarts in her sixth year in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince when in her Herbology class she learns that her mother is murdered by Death Eaters. Hannah Abbott returns to Hogwarts in May 1998 in the finale Harry Potter series Deathly Hallows when Harry Potter takes up the final confrontation against the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort. Hannah Abbott, Fred Weasley and Lee Jordan stood guard over a secret passage together when Harry Potter rescued them from the evil curse of Lord Voldemort with a Shield Charm and allowed her along with Seamus Finnigan to join the battle in the Great Hall.
She later married Neville Longbottom, another Hufflepuff characters in the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling and became the landlady to the Leaky Cauldron.
In the film versions of Harry Potter and Chambers of Secrets and Harry potter and the Goblet of Fire the character of Hannah Abbott has been played by Charlotte Skeoch.
